B.A.R.S. meets at Becknell Hall (pictured to the right), also known as the Pioneer Village City Hall, located at 4700 Summitt Drive. We meet the third Friday of each month at 7:00 PM, unless otherwise noted on our Home Page.

Directions: Take Preston Highway (Hwy 61) south to Bullitt County. Follow Preston to the traffic light before the 84 Lumber. There is a sign indicating the Pioneer Village City Hall to the right. Turn right, this is Summitt Drive. Follow Summitt until you see U-Stuff-It Storage on the left. Becknell Hall is immediately on your left, just after the storage facility.

What If I'm Not A Ham?

That's fine. One of the best ways to learn about Amateur Radio is to meet other hams. Drop by one of our meetings, get to know us, let us get to know you and, above all, ask us questions. Hams enjoy sharing what they know about Amateur Radio and want to see others become licensed operators.

We also have some great help here on the website. How To Study For Your Amateur Radio License provides an introduction to Amateur Radio explaining how to get started, what privileges your license provides and several ways to study for your exam. There are also several videos explaining Amateur Radio and Emergency Services.

Study Material To Earn Your Technician Class Ham License provides a number of presentations and printouts for downloading and studying. These material are sure to help you ace your test.

Finally, when you're ready to pass your exam, check out the Louisville Area Amateur Radio Testing Sessions page to find out when and where you can take your test.
